Creative Media Production and Technology at Exeter College

Course description

This course is designed for people who want to work in the film and TV industry. It provides a range of experiences, allowing individuals to progress straight into the workplace or onto higher education. In your first year you will study the 90-credit Diploma progressing to the Extended Diploma in your second year.

Course content

You will have the opportunity to develop practical and creative skills through a variety of production assignments such as TV drama, documentary, TV studio multi camera production, music video and animation.

Entry requirements

You need at least five GCSEs at Grade C (including English Language) and a keen interest in the media.

Assessment

You are assessed through your finished video work and your production folder which should contain all your research, planning and production evidence. Observations from your lecturers will also form a part of your assessment.

Financial information

We do advise that you purchase a portable computer hard drive of at least 500Mbs that is compatible with Apple Mac computers to store your work on and collate projects to show prospective employers and universities.

Future opportunities

You could go on to higher education - previous students have studied Film and Television Production at Buckinghamshire New University, Media Studies at the University of Brighton, and the Foundation Degree in Film and Television Production at Exeter College. You could also get a job in the media industry.
