French VIPS at Prince William School

Course content

Our VIPS course (Vocational International Project Sheffield) has been successfully trialled in Sheffield since 2003 and at Prince William School we aim to equip our students with language skills which are directly transferable to the workplace and to enhance their employability by working in close co-operation with local businesses. In school, we provide the training in practical Business French during their two year course but a key factor in motivation is giving students the opportunity to put their language skills into practice during visits in groups of 4-6 students to participating companies in the local area. In this way, they will be able to see first hand that the learning they do in the classroom has a direct relevance to the workplace and to give them the opportunity to put their language skills into practice. There is no final examination but continuous assessment will be done throughout the two years with NVQ accreditation from OCR. There are a limited number of places on this course.
