Law A-Level at George Salter Academy

Course description

This course is designed to develop students’ enjoyment of, and interest in, the subject. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of selected areas of the Law and learn important skills such as logical thinking and skills necessary to analyse and solve problems by applying legal rules. Throughout the course students are encouraged to develop the ability to communicate legal arguments and show an awareness of the changing nature of Law in society through a variety of teaching activities including role plays, discussions and debates.

Progression routes from this course

A-level Law provides the opportunity to progress to university or employment. Law can enhance your chances of being accepted into university, either to take a Law degree, a social science or business degree, or any other course of study. It is also a useful subject for students wishing to go into employment.

Entry requirements

No prior knowledge of the subject is required. It is required that you have a GCSE grade C in English. A pass at AS-level is required to study A-level Law.
