Performing Engineering Operations (Electronic) Level 1 Certificate at Middlesbrough College
This qualification is aimed at learners who intend to progress to follow Apprenticeship and Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programmes; career progression to Level 2 in Electronic engineering and wish to develop their Maths And English plus provide supporting evidence towards their competencies of the NVQ. The course is made of two components (Technical certificate (2850) and an NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations 7682). The technical certificate provides the underpinning knowledge for the theory to put into practice for the second component (NVQ) being practically based in the workshops.
Working in engineering Carrying out electrical assembly Carrying out electronics assembly Working safely in an engineering environment Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively Using and communicating technical information Assembling electronic circuits Carrying out routine servicing of electrical/electronic components As part of your learning programme you will also attend the following session: Maths (Exempt if you have a minimum of GCSE grade C in Maths) English (Exempt if you have a minimum of GCSE grade C in English Language) Study Skills 1:1 Tutorials Enrichment activities
4 GCSE’s with a minimum grade of E’s including Maths, English Language and Science and satisfactory references. Minimum of E3 initial assessment for Maths and English. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."
Compiling an evidence portfolio of both practical activity and underpinning knowledge. Observation and oral questioning by an assessor and some online multiple choice assessments.
