English Language GCSE at Glenthorne High School
Most pupils will take English and Literature GCSEs which count for two qualifications. This includes a coursework folder and two exams in English. Speaking and Listening tasks, assessed as coursework, will also be awarded a separate grade. The course includes the study of Shakespeare, pre-1914 prose and modern texts which cover poetry and drama. Pupils will be issued with an anthology of writing that needs to be looked after during the course.
