Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator, VRQ) Diploma Level 3 at Hackney Community College
This one-year childcare qualification enables you to become an Early Years Educator to work with children from birth to 5 years.
The qualification is based around four key themes which include: – health and well-being – legislation, frameworks and professional practice – play, development and learning for school readiness – professional development to run through the whole qualification
You will also carry out child observations over a period of time.
You will learn through a number of work placements, classroom sessions and child observations.
This is a two year course, where you will attend College two days/evenings per week, plus English and maths, and do 2 day per week work placement.
GCSE maths and English A-C. You will also have a written assessment and interview at the College and you must provide a suitable reference.
· 16-18 year-olds do not have to pay tuition fees on FE courses
· many 16-18 year-olds may be eligible to receive a bursary
· many 16-18 year-olds can receive a Free College Meals pass (depending on eligibility)
· Transport for London student travel cards are available.
· Re-sits, CRB fees and other incidental costs are to be paid when due.
Employment as an Early Years Educator in a range of child care settings, such as a nursery manager.
Before you start your lessons, you’ll take part in induction sessions, where you’ll meet other students and find out all about the support that’s available to you. This includes learning about the Virtual Learning Environment, tutorials and the campus facilities. All students can receive free, confidential and impartial advice on things like: your next step in education or your career, finance, housing, health, immigration, benefit claims, legal problems, sexual health, drugs, staying safe, personal / emotional concerns and other issues.
