Travel & Tourism at West Coventry 6th Form (Woodlands Academy, Tile Hill Wood School, Westwood Academy)
It provides an alternative to A level and is assessed in a completely different way. The course is recognised by all universities as being worth the equivalent of a full A level and the course attracts UCAS points. The course has a vital vocational element and provides an excellent route into working in an industry that employs almost 10% of the UK workforce. The qualification is highly rated amongst tourism operators and the tourism sector of the economy is predicted to continue to grow in the future.

Year 12 - BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism Certificate Year13 - BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism Subsidiary Diploma The course is 100% coursework. Students are required to complete a series of tasks that are marked by the subject teachers. Assessments are also moderated by the exam board. You will be expected to participate in a number of day trips and residential visits to tourist destinations
There are a number of possibilities: - Further study in the subject at university or college - You may use the UCAS points for admission to an unrelated university or college course - An excellent way of gaining employment within the booming Travel and Tourism industry.
A variety of methods but there is a real emphasis on research skills and independent learning. Many of the assessments will require strong collaborative skills
