Design and Technology A2 at Immanuel College

Course description

The product design course at AS and A2 has been designed to encourage students to take a broad view of Technology, to develop their capacity to design and make products and appreciate the complex relationship between design, materials, manufacturing and marketing. The course will provide the opportunity to link with popular GCSE Design and Technology courses, and will enable students to develop and demonstrate skills of designing, making, graphics and problem solving linked to the real world of product manufacture.

Course content

The design and Technology courses experienced in lower years at Immanuel are a soundpreparation for AS and A2 study. A good performance at GCSE in any material area will enablethe students to enjoy the intellectual challenges presented during the course.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grade C or above including GCSE technology

Assessment

The Students:'The AS course is very enjoyable and very useful. It is a development on thetechnology that is done in GCSE and although the standards need to be high it is verysatisfying producing good quality work.'
