Applied Science at Thomas Adams School

Course description

Scientists work in industry, the health service, government establishments and educational institutions. Fields of work include research and development and scientific analysis, and there are job opportunities in almost every industry, from food and drink to pharmaceuticals. The BTEC Level 3 National Awards, Certificates and Diplomas in Applied Science offer the opportunity to specialise in areas ranging from forensics to medicine.

This course is particularly suited to those who wish to take a Science-based subject at this level, but do not necessarily wish to specialise in a traditional pure Science A Level.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at C grade or above, including Maths and Science, plus a keen interest in the application of Science in the real world.
