Computer Science at Dudley Sixth
This course has been designed for students who wish to go on to Higher Education courses or employment, where knowledge of computer science would be beneficial.
This unit will introduce the fundamentals of programming, data structures, data representation, computer systems, computer organisation and architecture, communication and networking. You will also learn how to apply a systematic approach to problem solving, along with the theory of computation and the consequences of the uses of computing.Unit 2
Continuing on from Unit 1, in this unit you will be introduced to the fundamentals of algorithms, functional programming, databases and big data. You will also work on your own practical project, which will contribute 20% towards your overall A level marks.
You will require a grade 6 or higher in maths, in addition to the general entry requirements.

The government has introduced a new scheme to provide free meals for eligible learners in Further Education. The purpose of this new scheme is to enable students who claim benefits or live with parents/guardians who claim benefits to access a healthy meal whilst at college without the cost becoming a burden. Learner support fund

Free Bus Pass
If you are 16-18, and a student of Dudley Sixth, you will be eligible* for a free bus pass, as long as you live one mile away or further from where we are based, and are not already in receipt of other financial support.
*Students with disabilities who are unable to access public transport may still be able to receive help.
If you have costs other than those mentioned here, which make it difficult for you to start or complete a course, you should still apply for help.
