Intermediate Apprenticeship in HM Forces (RAF Regiment) at RAF Apprenticeships

Course description

Throughout the Intermediate Apprenticeship in HM Forces learners are taught the importance of having self confidence in their own ability. Whether working as part of a team or as an individual they are able to achieve whatever task is undertaken. There is a strong emphasis of the core standards of Respect for others and themselves Integrity, Service before self and Excellence.

The Apprentices cover many different units during their day to day Trainee Gunner Course which reflect their NVQ such as navigation, first aid, weapon handling and drill. Throughout this they also undertake a range of physical activities from swimming to circuit training to enable to them to build stamina, endurance and strength for the work their trade entails.

During the Functional Skills element they achieve qualifications in English and Mathematics, often exceeding the required Level.

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Public Services - Operational Delivery (Uniformed) (QCF)
