English Literature A-Level at DSLV E-ACT Academy

Course description

English Literature A level is well respected amongst employers and universities alike and for that reason, is one of the most popular A levels in the country. Students interested in following English Literature A level will build upon the skills they have gained at GCSE whilst using their enjoyment and enthusiasm for literature to work more independently. We offer Edexcel A level English Literature at DSLV, a course which offers our students the opportunity to analyse a substantial body of texts which include some of the best – loved in English Literature, from William Shakespeare to contemporary writers. During the course, students will study a range of drama, poetry and prose texts, written as far back as the 1600s and as recently as the past ten years. They will be given the opportunity to read widely and engage critically and creatively with an exciting and stimulating range of texts. Assessment comes in the form of three exams and one piece of coursework. At DSLV, we choose exciting texts which we feel our students will enjoy and respond well to and for that reason we currently have over 50 students studying A level English Literature.
