Psychology AS/A level at Highbury Grove School

Course description

Psychology is the study of human behaviour. It is a fascinating and challenging subject, which appeals to both scientists and non-scientists.

In this course you will learn about the different areas of psychology and how they relate to each other. You will be able to appreciate the scientific nature of psychology through practical experiments and tests and gain a holistic understanding of the subject through engaging in contemporary psychology debates.

Entry requirements

Six GCSEs at grade C or above including minimum grade B in English and Maths and minimum BB in Double Award Science or BBB Triple Award Science.

Assessment

100% examination with the opportunity to complete AS and A2 modular exams in January and June of each year.

Future opportunities

Psychology combines well with many subjects including media, sociology, biology and PE. It is relevant for a wide range of careers including those in the health services, caring professions, police and social services, as well as in business, education, advertising and the media.
