BTEC National Certificate in Sport at King Edward VI College, Nuneaton

Course description

The BTEC National Level 3 course looks at opportunities within the Sport and Leisure Industry and will cover the following areas:Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, Physiology of Fitness, Risk Assessment in Sport and Fitness Testing. This course will prepare you for a career in Sports Coaching, PE Teaching, the Fitness Industry, Sports Development and the Sports Industry.

Assessment is through coursework portfolios, a combination of written and practical research, and some external exams.

Financial information

College Kit (approx £70). There may be additional costs related to college visits and trips.

Future opportunities

Students may progress to HE onto Foundation Degress or Degrees such as Teaching, Sports Science, Sport Studies, Sport Therapy. Alternatively employment within the sports areas such as: Personal Trainer, Sports Coaches, Sport Development or Activity Leaders.

Some of your time on the course will consist of practical sport. You will study 4 units. Mandatory units: Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, Physiology of Fitness, Risk Assessment in Sport, Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise.There may also be opportunities for students to gain the Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA)
