Graphics at The Castle School
Graphics is an ideal choice for students interested in visual communication. They will experience working in a range of media and an emphasis on the use of digital software. Students seeking to go further in their study of Art often complete a one-year Art Foundation course at a local Further Education institution before applying for a university degree course.
Graphics is a practical but intellectually stimulating subject aimed at developing creative confidence and expression. Students work from their strengths and interests and are guided through learning new skills to ensure they achieve their best. Learning in lessons and independent research will help develop their personal responses to a wide variety of ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. The AS is 100% practical coursework, whereas the A2 course includes a critical study and a practical examination.
Minimum grade C in GCSE Art or Art & Design or GCSE Graphics Products.
