Course description

This course is an exciting amalgamation of dance, drama and singing skills. Have you ever wondered how to become a triple treat performer? The musical theatre industry is booming and on this course you will hone your skills to enable you to take it to the next level. You will explore a variety of techniques used in musical theatre such as acting, jazz dance and vocal techniques. You will also get the opportunity to take part in the large scale college musical at the end of the academic year. Key topics include:

- Jazz and ballet techniques

- One-to-one singing lessons

- Acting in musical theatre

- Singing skills and techniques

- Acting through song

Course content

The College is home to professional grade dance and theatre facilities. Our expert staff will guide and support you as you develop a range of technical skills that will allow you to progress into a career in Musical Theatre. You’ll have the opportunity to work on solo projects, and group performances, and throughout the course you will benefit from additional lessons including ballet, tap, 1-1 vocal coaching and Acro.

Relevant experience will be required.

Future opportunities

Students can study Musical Theatre as part of a mixed programme alongside two other subjects, or opt to study the course alongside our BTEC in Performing Arts, turning it into a full time course. This course combination is perfect for those hoping to access a career in Musical Theatre as an employee, apprentice or undergraduate student.
