Entry requirements

A grade B or above in GCSE ICT is required.

Future opportunities

ICT is used in many aspects of many jobs and is a starting point for: Computer programming, software development, hardware development, technical support, project management and website development, however, it is becoming an integral part of most peoples working lives and very few jobs require no ICT skills. You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Information and Communication Technology, which could lead onto higher education, BTEC Higher Nationals or NVQ Levels 3 and 4 in areas of information and communication technology or more general courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to ICT such as a Web Designer, IT Technician or Software Programmer. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will provide you with a good knowledge and understanding of ICT that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
