Classical Civilization A Level at Hessle High School and Sixth Form College

Course description

In a nutshell, classics is an all-embracing humanities subject giving you an experience of literature, mythology, history, drama, philosophy and sociology. The course involves the study of the works of major Greek and Roman authors in English translation.

The units studied are:

  • Homer's Iliad or Odyssey
  • Virgil's Aeneid
  • Greek Theatre
  • Love and Relationships

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at a Pass Grade are required.

Assessment

100% Exam.
