Course description

Are you a natural born leader? Confident in supporting and coaching others to deliver exceptional service? This course aims to develop your leadership skills so that you can supervise teams within the Food and Drink industry.

As part of this course you will have the opportunity to undertake work placements. You will gain practical work experience in hotels, restaurants and bars, preparing you for a career within this industry.

Course content

On this course you will study:

  • Hospitality service supervision
  • Leadership and team development
  • Hospitality service business operations
  • Principles of beverage service
  • Gastronomy and the dining experience
  • Planning and delivering events
  • Supervision of food safety and Health and Safety

 

Entry requirements

Students are required to have either a Level 2 Food and Beverage qualification or prior experience within the Food and Drink service industry.

You will need to be determined, passionate, and driven. A commitment to supervise others in exceptional food and drink service is necessary.

You may have to undertake English and Maths alongside this course if you do not have the required grades.

Assessment

Assessment for this course will be through an end point, practical observation which will evaluate your organisation and supervision of your own event from concept to delivery.

You will also undertake an external examination as part of this course.

Your tutor you will be on hand throughout this course to support you.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing this course you could seek to gain a supervisory role within the hospitality sector.

You will be well equipped to undertake a company management training scheme, we have links with Q Hotels and Radisson Hotels.

Alternatively you could seek a high/degree level Apprenticeship within your chosen area.
