Course description

30% Oral examination – presentation of a topic of your choice 30% Listening and reading (examination) personal access to audiotape with walkman 40% Reading and writing (examination)

Entry requirements

Grade C in French. A real interest in France and the dedication needed to acquire fluency in the language by the end of the course are essential. You need to have a genuine desire to communicate in the foreign language.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level course or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in French, which could lead onto higher education in French, Languages or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to French or Languages such as a Teacher, Translator, or you may wish to use your French to study or work over in France. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the travel and tourism sector.
