Ever wondered who really controls the economy…the politicians, royals or business leaders? Accountants would argue it’s them and without them we’d be in a sticky mess!

Course content

Course Overview

Year 1

Introduction to Financial Accounting. Investigating accounting basics, key concepts, double entry book keeping and the presentation of final accounts.

Financial and Management Accounting. Developing and creating final accounts for different businesses, making adjustments to accounts and analysing the performance of companies based on their accounts.

Year 2

Further aspects of Financial Accounting. Students develop their skills, creating and analysing different types of accounts and extending their range of advanced techniques.

Further aspects of Management Accounting. Developing the ways that accounting aids business management and contributes to effective decision making.

Progression

Business qualifications enable students to access the broad range of further education courses. Many students go on to study BSc/BA Hons degrees in business related subjects.
