Art & Design at Harwich and Dovercourt High School
Students must complete 4 core units, they will:
explore visual recording in art and design as they research and develop their own Graphic Novels.
develop an understanding of the materials, techniques and processes used in art and design.
gain an insight into contemporary and historical art and design which will inform their own practice.
acquire knowledge, understanding and skills in communication through art and design. Learners will look at advertising & how visual imagery is used to communicate ideas.
develop practical, critical and analytical skills
Further units may be chosen from those available. A digital photography unit is available to students with access to their own equipment.
Students must have grade C or equivalent in an Art or Design & Technology course and also a C in GCSE English.
