Bricklaying Level 1 Diploma at Hartlepool College of Further Education

Course description

This course is targeted towards school leavers and anyone looking to re-engage themselves in learning through practical qualifications that develop the skills of the learner in today's modern construction industry.

Course content

The course is made up of theory based knowledge modules to underpin the skill base learning that takes place in a simulated working environment.

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements.


Formative and summative assessment carried out throughout the one year programme. Assessment will be offered when the student is confident that he/she is ready. Assessment covers practical and theoretical areas of the course.

Future opportunities

On completion of Diploma Level 1, students can progress to an NVQ qualification if employment can be sourced or progress onto a Level 2 full time programme in Bricklaying.
