Course description

This course looks at the analysis of an elite performer. It addresses the importance of training programmes, nutrition and the psychological aspects a professional sports person has to understand. Unit 1 – Principles of anatomy and Physiology in Sport Unit 2 – The Physiology of Fitness Unit 3 – Assessing Risk in Sport Unit 4 – Fitness Training and Programming Unit 5 – Sports Coaching Unit 6 – Sports Development Unit 7 – Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise

Entry requirements

• Students should fulfil the general entry requirements to study A levels at the Academy. • Must be motivated • Have an interest in Sport and Leadership skills. • Have good communication and organisational skills
