Warehousing and Storage Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

As an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds; you will earn a salary and gain real experience in the workplace with your employer and work towards a nationally recognised NVQ qualification. Apprenticeships are suitable for well-motivated people who are focussed and know which career path they want to follow. They offer high quality work-based training as an alternative to full time study. This programme is aimed at people who are employed, or are seeking employment. You will need to be 16 years of age or over. Apprenticeships are available at level 2 and level 3.

Course content

• Employment, for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with training in the workplace and some supervisory responsibilities • Assessor visits in the workplace every 3 – 4 weeks • Functional Skills level 2 • Employment Rights and Responsibilities 

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship covers:

• Contribute to the provision of customer service in logistic operations • Supervise the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods Provide leadership for your team in logistic operations • Take responsibility for health, safety and security in your team Plus a range of optional units. 

Entry requirements

For the level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship you need one of the following: • 5 GCSEs A*-C including maths and English or Functional Skills • Relevant level 2 Apprenticeship • Relevant work experience At interview you will be asked to a basic assessment to prove that your English and maths is at level 2. You will enjoy working with people and show evidence of good skills in practical subjects.

Assessment

This course is continuously assessed in the workplace by portfolio building, on the job assessment, presentations and some exams.

Future opportunities

Training for Apprenticeships is currently fully funded, however this is subject to change.

Further information

On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will receive a City & Guilds level 3 diploma.
