GCE AS Level Mathematics at St Chads Catholic and Church of England High School
There will be the opportunity to attend Examiners’ Conferences in Manchester or London, and Sixth Form lectures at Liverpool University. You can compete in our Maths Olympics to be the Gold Medal Mathematician. As an alternative an A/S course could be available in Pure Mathematics or Pure Mathematics and Mechanics or Pure Mathematics and Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, and this will run concurrently with the Advanced Level course.
You must have reached Grade B at the Higher Level of GCSE to embark on this course . You will need commitment, determination and a flair for problem solving.
The course is assessed by end-of-module examinations. The modular approach enables students to resit examinations to improve their grades before cashing them in for their qualification.
GCE A2 Mathematics
There is some degree of overlap with the Mechanics elements of this course and that of 'A" Level Physics which may be an advantage if you are studying both. Mathematics will also help you in other ‘A’ Level subjects such as Business Studies, Geography and Biology which involve a lot of statistical work.
How to apply
