Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 VTCT Diploma at Kidderminster College

Course description

The course covers all aspects of working in a unisex hairdressing salon including:

-Cutting hair techniques
-Advice, consultation and health and safety
-Colouring, shampooing and conditioning hair
-Styling and setting hair
-Permanent waving and neutralising hair

Functional Skills will be incorporated in the programme

Entry requirements

Under 19s are required to supply evidence of 4 GCSEs grades F or above, (including English and three other academic subjects) and Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing.  Mature learners are welcome, a good standard of education is essential.


You will undertake three projects and six written exams and ongoing practical assessments. Work placement will be part of this course. Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English are also included.

Financial information

It will be necessary to purchase a kit and uniform with shoes (£TBC)
