Using Employability Skills Entry Level 2 NOCN Diploma at Wigan & Leigh College

Course description

The qualification offers the learner an opportunity to identify the skills they require to be able to progress towards some form of employment; this can include supported employment or voluntary placements. This qualification can provide a springboard to other qualificatins within specific vocational areas

Course content

During the course you will study subjects to include: Applying for jobs and courses, Follow instructions in the work place, Health and Safety procedures, Using ICT skills and equipment, Using number skills, Using Communicatin skills, Working with others, Induction to work, Working in Catering, Working in Hospitality.

Entry requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required. Entry will be through an interview.

Assessment

You will be assessed through a portfolio which you will build during the year in class.

    • Our Parson's Walk Centre houses a wide range of vocational courses and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere.

      The Centre features the award winning Wheel restaurant, together with other outstanding facilities that provide hands on work experience including the Image Centre, Florist Shop and Travel Shop.

      In addition, our classrooms offer a comfortable and professional working environment which is exemplified by our £20,000 state-of-the-art Apple Mac suite.

      This Centre also houses the College's largest Learning Resource Centre to provide help and support to all students in the use of the library and IT facilities. Our dedicated team of staff are on hand to provide assistance with electronic books and databases, information skills and one-to-one sessions. Laptops, iPads and Samsung tablets are just a selection of the range of facilities available.

      This Centre is completed with our Employment Services team who are here to offer you a personal information, advice and guidance session to identify areas of development and agree goals to set you on your path to gaining employment.
