BTEC Sport Level 3 at The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School

Course description

The Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Level 3 National Extended Diploma in partnership with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust for September 2015.

Brentford FC CST will deliver the Football/Futsal programme and provide practical coaching skills alongside experienced Wiseman teaching staff who will teach units on: Fitness Training, Sports Nutrition and topical issues in Sport. Students will participate in a football programme with regular training in our new sports facilities.

They may also have the opportunity to take part in work placements with Brentford FC's award winning Community Sports Trust. This Diploma can provide a pathway into Sports degrees at university as well as potential scholarships and employment in the professional sports or leisure industries.

Course content

This exciting new course is worth 3 A levels and is recognised by UCAS for admission into University.

  • Full Time 2 Year Course
  • BTEC equivalent to 3 A Levels
  • Delivered by Teachers from Cardinal Wiseman
  • Modules include:
    • Sports coaching
    • Fitness Training
    • Sports Nutrition
    • Sport as Business
  • Practical Football Coaching by Brentford FC
  • Play competitive football against Football League and Premier Clubs on Wednesday afternoons
  • Work experience with Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust
  • Gain FA Level 1 Coaching Award
  • Gain FA Beginners Guide in FUTSAL

Entry requirements

Four indvidual GCSEs at A* - C including English and Maths.

  • Age 16+
  • 4 GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths
  • Successful selection at Brentford FC CST Futsal trials

      We have a limited number of parking spaces available for disabled visitors. The school reception can be accessed via a ramp and automatic doors.
