Course description

The CACHE Level 2 Certificate - Introduction to Early Years Education and Care is a qualification that prepares you to work in a supervised capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services.

Course content

Candidates will undertake practical training in various childcare establishments and study core units in childcare. To achieve the Certificate you must achieve a total of 33 credits. Throughout the qualification you will be expected to participate in a professional practice in a variety of settings in order to apply what you have learned in a practical environment.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 to include English Language and Mathematics at grade D/3 or you will have successfully passed a Level 1 course with Functional Skills in English and Mathematics.

Successful interview and satisfactory reference required and a DBS police check for placement.

Future opportunities

You can progress to the Level 3 Diploma and Apprenticeship for Children & Young People’s Workforce. Job roles include nursery/classroom/pre-school assistant and nanny.
