Course content

Functional Skills English, Maths and ICT, Personal and Social Development, Guidance and Jobsearch.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required. However, learners need, as a minimum to be competent to Entry Level 3 in Literacy and Numeracy. They must also demonstrate empathy with children and be reliable.


Course work based for Childcare qualification and exam based for English, Maths and ICT.

Financial information

Learners can receive up to 30 per week in finacial support and bonus payments for reaching agreed targets.

You could work as a Childcare assistant learners can progress into an Apprenticeship in childcare - Level 2 Certificate in Childcare Learning and Development
