Course description

The course is intended for those who have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies that want a more in depth knowledge in order to gain entry into the Plumbing and Building Services Engineering industry.

Course content

Health and Safety in building services engineering
Understand the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
Plumbing system installation and planning
Complex cold water systems
Domestic hot water systems
Sanitation and drainage systems
Central heating systems
Domestic gas principles
Career awareness in Building Services Engineering

Entry requirements

Preferably English, Maths and ITC GCSE’s at Grades A-C or functional skills at Level 2 and Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies or equivalent. All applicants will be given an interview to discuss application. You will need to demonstrate motivation and a keen interest in Plumbing and Domestic Heating.

Assessment

The assessments consist of on-line tests to be completed and passed at the end of each unit and an on-going assignment. There will also be a practical task manual to be completed in the workshop throughout the year.
