Psychology A level at The Sweyne Park School

Course description

Psychology creates a sense of wonder in anyone who studies it. It is a personal science that explores our understanding of the world, ourselves and others. It is the opportunity to develop a deep insight into human nature and behaviour through knowledge of brain functions, interactions, relationships and the adaptability of people to contexts, experiences and situations.

Course content

The A level course investigates a variety of approaches to psychology, such as cognitive, developmental, biological and social. Appropriate research methods will be applied in studies and their effectiveness evaluated. There will also be opportunities to research individual differences and psychopathy
