Hairdressing at Redwood Education and Skills

Course description

This very practical course will give you an introduction to the hairdressing industry and help you to develop skills and knowledge that will enable you to progress into further learning or an apprenticeship. Health & safety, client consultation and shampooing and conditioning hair are key themes throughout the course. In addition to this you will learn about styling and dressing womens' hair, hairdressing design skills and promoting products and services to clients.

Entry requirements

Acceptance onto the course is subject to a suitable recommendation from your head of year and an informal interview at EDEC.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you could apply to do an NVQ programme at Level 2 in order to become fully qualified as a hairdresser. Following this you could then gain further qualifications as a stylist, a colour technician, a barber or african caribbean specialist.
