Bench Joinery Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Harrogate College

Course description

The programme runs on a day release basis with one or two block release attendances at examination/assessment times. When not attending College the apprentice will be working on site.

Course content

Course will cover: Assessing resource, planning work sequence. Preparing work programme, seeking advice concerning alternative resource, re-planning for alternatives.  Applying the principles of equality/diversity, developing and maintaining good working relationships, discussing alternative plans with other trades. Resolving differences of opinion.  Taking information from drawings/plans, understanding and assessing project data, organising people/resource, best use of resource.  Turning staircases, curved work, angular work, kitchen cabinets, use of woodworking machinery. 
Will also collect site evidence from the workplace covering the following areas: Confirming work activities and resources for the workplace, Developing and maintaining good working relationships, Confirming the occupational method of work, Erecting complex structural carcassing.

Entry requirements

Level 2 apprenticeship in Bench Joinery. Direct entry to the Advanced Apprenticeship may be possible depending on experience

Future opportunities

Achievement of this qualification provides opportunities to progress to further qualifications such as Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision.
