Administration (Business Professional) Level 1 Certificate at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You will develop your ICT skills by studying mail merge and text processing. You will also investigate opportunities for personal and social development as you undertake a work experience programme for one week.

Course content

The units that you can expect to study will cover the following topics:

  • Working in Administration
  • Creating Business Documents
  • Making and Receiving Calls
  • Welcoming Visitors
  • Handling Diary Systems

If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).

Entry requirements

  • At least 2 GCSEs at grade D (or above)*

*Applicants who do not meet this criteria will be individually assessed to determine their suitability.


You will be assessed through coursework, examinations and a portfolio of your work.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto the level 2 certificate or diploma in administration.

Employment opportunities could include work within administration for both big and small companies across a range of sectors.
