BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Production Art: Costume at The John Henry Newman RC School

Course description

• You will learn: how to apply costume construction skills
in pattern cutting; measuring of the cast; drafting block
patterns; fittings and fabric estimations.
• You will explore different processes: dying fabrics;
fabric painting; fabric printing and applying decorative
• You will develop, understand and fulfil the roles and
responsibilities of a costume designer.
• You will develop appropriate costumes suitable for
productions through research, analysis of text and well
developed costume illustrations.

Entry requirements

Five Grade C passes at GCSE
