ICT at Lucton School
The WJEC ICT course at Lucton consists of 2 units at AS and a further 2 units at A2. Units 1 and 3 cover theoretical, legal and moral issues around ICT. Units 2 and 4 are practical coursework projects that cover Presentation tasks and a large Relational Database project. The subject encourages students to become discerning users of IT, developing a broad range of skills and knowledge. Whilst it is recomended that students have at least a B grade at GCSE there have been a number of previous students who have done extremely well and not studied GCSE ICT, in this case dedication and interest in the subject are the most important criteria.
Ideally, students will have gained at least grade B in ICT; however, each applicant is considered on his or her merits.
