Course description

This is a multi-levelled course (Entry 1 to Level 2) if your first language is not English. It includes English, ICT, Mathematics and Employability and Personal Development skills.

Course content

  • Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life
  • Functional Skills in Mathematics
  • Functional Skills in ICT
  • Award in Employability and Personal Development

English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

You will need to complete an initial assessment.


Students need to produce a personal portfolio of evidence and assessments are taken at the end of each term.

Future opportunities

You will be able to continue with your English and Maths studies or proceed onto vocational courses depending on your level of English.

Further information

You will receive substantial guidance throughout the year to help you progress onto other vocational courses.

This course will help you to build up confidence to choose an employment pathway or prepare for further study. You will leave the course with the skills and confidence to improve employability.
