Course content:

This course develops research skills, the product of written reports, the analysis and evaluation of information, customer and service plus an in depth knowledge/ understanding of travel and tourism. An essential element of the course will be visits to local and national tourist attractions, and there will be the possibility of a residential trip to undertake some of this work. This is a course for all students wishing to seek employment in the biggest growth industry in the UK, Travel and Tourism. Research will be first hand and out in the field, researching job opportunities, tourist development, planning holiday itineraries, visitor expectations and resort appeal and you will explore customer service skills and T & T role play scenarios/situations.

3 units lead to a full BTEC First Certificate Level 2 qualification via practical and theory sessions.

Unit 1: The UK Travel and Tourism Industry

Unit 2: Exploring customer services in Travel & Tourism

Unit 3: Travel and Tourism Destinations

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of five GCSE passes at grade C or above. You will need energy, drive, enthusiasm, determination and ambition to join us. A keen appetite to undertake fieldwork is essential.
