Access to HE Diploma (Health) at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is suitable for those who wish to progress to University to study a health related degree such as Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Radiography or Operating Department practice.  You should be aged 19+ years, have had a break from full time learning and gained some experience of work. You will need to be highly organised, able to problem solve and use initiative with effective communication skills.  you will be required to participate in a careeers interview, initial assessment and a group discussion then ensure you have organised fee payment for the programme before you are eligible to enrol.

Entry requirements

Yes you require GCSE English Language, GCSE Mathematics and GCSE Science at grade C or above.  You will also be required to undertake an initial asessment in English and maths and demonstrate Level 2 ability English and Level 1 in maths.  Please note if you do not have these qualifications, there is a pre-access course that you will be able to study to prepare you for a Level 3 Access programme.

Assessment

Your progress will be assed by Portfolio, assignment and exam as well as practical assessments and tests.

Future opportunities

Progression Opportunities: After successful completion of this course you should progress to a higher education programme of study either at University or at Northumberland College.

Career Opportunities: Upon successful completion of your degree you could apply for a health realted role such as a nurse, midwife, occupational therapist, radiographer or physiotherpist.
