Why choose ICT?
In today’s world, the ability to use a computer with confidence is essential in all walks of life. Many features of our everyday life are regulated by the use of computers. Those who understand how to solve problems, complete tasks and develop advanced uses with well-known applications are constantly in high demand. The course is taught using a networked PC system with industry standard software. Coursework accounts for 20% of the overall marks.
The teachers are all highly qualified and have expertise in the delivery of ICT courses. If you already have knowledge of ICT, your teachers will introduce you to concepts which will allow you to develop your talents even further.

What can I study it with?
The course combines well with all other courses offered in the Sixth Form, with the exception of A Level Computer Science - this combination is prohibited by the exam boards. Particularly good subjects to combine it with include Business Studies, Graphics, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Studies and any of the sciences.
A large proportion of our students go on to university to study ICT, computing or a similar ICT/Business related subject to degree level. All industries require IT professionals and the employment prospects of students who have a degree in ICT are excellent in all fields.
At least 5 GCSE grades A*- C, including:
Grade C in English Language and Grade C in Mathematics It is not necessary to have studied the subject previously.
