Spanish A Level at Weston College

Course description

This subject will allow you to speak and write about your ideas and opinions on a range of topics in Spanish.

In year one, you will learn to speak, listen, write and read a variety of texts. Year two builds on this and explores culture and society in Spanish speaking countries.

Study subjects include: understanding native speakers and written materials, developing self-expression, taking you to the next level, topics and issues relevant to young people today such as lifestyle, health and fitness, literature and the arts.

Entry requirements

At least five GCSEs at grade A*-C, including Spanish at grade B or above.


We will assess you with written, oral, listening and reading comprehension exams.

Future opportunities

  • A degree at university in Spanish or with a range of other subjects including: business, law, engineering, history
  • Spanish is an asset in careers in many areas, including business, industry, engineering, finance, travel and tourism, teaching, law, and the civil service.
