Hairdressing Diploma Level 2 at Teignmouth Community School

Course description

The Level 2 Diploma in Hair & Beauty will allow you to explore all aspects of Hair and Beauty, using your creative talents to develop new hair and makeup looks and to learn about the colouring and dressing of hair.

Course content

This is a modular course covering all aspects of Hair and Beauty. Post 16 learners are permitted to use colours, cutting and massage techniques. You will explore your creative talents across the various sectors of hair and beauty allowing you to decide which part of the sector you find the most interesting. You will spend 3 days in School and 2 days in a work placement of your choice. You will be assessed both in the work placement at school by our fully qualified hairdresser who has recent and relevant knowledge and experience. Some of the aspects you will study are: image based theme on hair and makeup, the art of dressing hair, colour and lightening, perm and neutralising, applying makeup, eyelash perming, skin care, head massage.

Entry requirements

Previous experience of hair and beauty course is preferred but not essential.

Future opportunities

Due to the wide variety of techniques that you will learn you would be able to work in a salon, a cruise ship, or any other part of the beauty sector such as a health spa.
