Level 2 Horticulture at Brooksby Melton College

Course description

This course introduces you to a range of horticultural settings and is intended for individuals who want a direct route into employment in the horticultural industry or as a progression route to further qualifications such as Level 3 Horticulture.

The course overs a selection of topics and tasks, as well as providing sound knowledge and an appreciation of various horticultural concepts. It uses continuous assessment involving practical skills assessments, assignments, projects and plant identification assessments.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above or grade 3-9 including English OR Level 1 Horticulture and Entry 3 Functional Skills

Financial information

Courses are funded for students aged 16-18. Students aged 19+ may be subject to course fees, dependent on previous qualification. For full course fees please contact course enquires.

Future opportunities

Those who complete the course with a merit grade can progress onto the Level 3 Horticulture course.
Past students have found employment within the industry in areas such as: landscape gardening, green keeping, working at botanical gardens, as well as working in garden centres and with commercial growers.
