ICT OCR National at St Columba's Catholic Boys' School

Course description

All pupils will follow an ICT course at Key Stage 4. This course will be one of (a) OCR NATIONAL ICT (Level 2) (b) OCR NATIONAL ICT (Level 1) Boys will be placed into the most appropriate course dependent upon their ability. OCR NATIONAL LEVEL 1 This course entails the pupils to study at least 2 units • Unit 1 – ICT IN BUSINESS • Unit 2 – WEBPAGE DESIGN There will be an opportunity for pupils to study further units when they complete the mandatory two. This level is equivalent to GCSE grades D-G. ICT – OCR NATIONALS (Level 2) The majority of pupils will follow the National First Award in ICT. To opt into extra Units to obtain the equivalent of 2 or 3 GCSEs at Grade C+, then you MUST have obtained at least LEVEL 5 at KS3. In this case students have to select ICT as an Option in addition to the compulsory ICT course. This course allows pupils to achieve an equivalent of 1 GCSE at grade C or above for every 90 hours tuition.
