Information Technology Networking Level 2 at The Maltings College

Course description

This course will give you the opportunity to use a range of creative software, including Photoshop and Dreamweaver. In addition to exploring software, you will learn about the impact of computers on the internet and the working world.

You will get the chance to be creative by producing your own images and graphics for real life scenarios. The practical approach to this course allows you to reflect on your own skills and apply them in the workplace with confidence.

The course lecturer has five years of teaching experience, leading both A- level and college courses. These include IT, Creative Media and Computer Science courses.

Course content

You will learn how to:

  • design graphics
  • create video and audio
  • design websites
  • use e-Portfolio
  • manage networks
  • develop your communication, team work and problem solving skills, preparing you for employment
  • use computational thinking
  • understand the online world

Entry requirements

To apply for a Level 2 course you need to be either: 

Progressing from completion of a Level 1 course and/or;  

Hold three or more GCSEs at grade D or above.

Assessment

Coursework.

E-assessment.

Portfolio of evidence.

Practical demonstrations / assignment.

Financial information

Financial assistance for meals, transport, course uniform and equipment is available for all students who meet the criteria set out by the DFE.
