Railway Engineering Course at Alpha Building Services Engineering

Course description

This railway engineering course provides you with sufficient knowledge, understanding and practical skills to introduce you to the railway industry and perpare you for the NVQs in Railway Engineering. The course will develop your abilities to carry out engineering tasks including hand tools and power tools, traction and rolling stock maintenance, electrification and plant maintenance and safety awareness.

Course content

This whole course package covers the following learning elements:

  • Hand tools and power tools (includes rail saw and abrasive wheels, impack wrench, cobra TT, petrol generator, cembre rail drill, iron man lifting frame, safety awareness and manual handling)
  • Medical Test
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) E-learning
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) and DCCR
  • Track Induction Course

 

Candidate can choose to take the learning package for the above units excluding Hand Tools and Power Tools Training with a 10% discount or can study the unit individually.
