Professional Sports Coaching Skills Programme at Chelmsford College

Course description

This programme allows keen young sports men and women the chance to learn new coaching skills whilst undertaking a bank of work-based related qualifications in the sports coaching environment.

Learners will learn how to improve their planning, communication and organisational skills whilst gaining recognised specialised awarding body and National Governing Body coaching qualifications.

All learners will take part in both classroom and practical activities and the course will prepare young people for sports based work roles or academic sports programmes at College.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or successful achievement at a Level 1 vocational course.

Assessment

Learners are assessed throughout the course through a variety of activities including assignment work, presentations, exams and practical activities.

Uniform approx £80

Future opportunities

Learners could progress on to a Level 2/3 College course or an Apprenticeship.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre, Tutorial Centre, a Copyshop and Refectory. Situated on the grounds of this campus are Dovedale Nursery and Dovedale Sports Centre.
