Sports Apprenticeship at South Dartmoor Community College

Course description

The role of being a Sports Apprentice at the Ashmoor Sports Centre, in conjunction with South Dartmoor Community College, is a highly coveted one.

Course content

The beauty of an apprenticeship is the degree to which you can choose your own route – your work can be tailored to your strengths and interests – with a set of professional qualifications at the end to match. You can expect to gain extra sports qualifications and useful tools, such as a First Aid certificate through the year. A typical working week would see 7 hours spent in the classroom (condensed into one day) with 30 hours spent ‘on the job’. Assessment is through a series of methods including traditional written work, but also customer feedback, work observation and line manager reports.

Entry requirements

Students should aim for 5 A*-C (including Eng and Maths) however this course is still available for those who do not and will include Functional Skills retakes).

How to apply

If you want to apply for this course, you will need to contact South Dartmoor Community College directly.
